Hello all. Found these two items in about 1 ft of soil up on a bluff overlooking the coast. Both are ferromagnetic and heavy.
1. The stake is 11.5” in length and 1” diam on one end and 1/2” diam on the other end. There is a groove all the way around the perimeter of the stake about 3.25” from the larger side. See photo.
2. The 2nd item was found buried about the same depth (1-1.25’) and looks like some kind of a hub with spoke nubs that have been broken off around the center hub. Center hub is about 3” diameter and the nubs are at 1” spacing.
Other than this, just the usual nickels, dimes and pennies, plus a bottle cap (I’m getting quite a collection), and more old nails.
Any clues as to what these items are would be greatly appreciated!
