the clay piece is the bowl of a smoking pipe . the small button is a cuff button.

the small button is a cuff button.

We like to call them cuff buttons but it is probably from a mans vest or waistcoat. They are the same size as a cuff button and more likely to pop off...

Sorry for the "take no prisoners" attitude this morning. After coffee I'll be more forgiving. :laughing7:

The little cuff button is different. Looks like a star pattern on it of sorts.
Maybe a better picture in daylight would help ID it if it's also military related.

So much knowledge passed along to help folks like me who are a few years into digging is so helpful. I love history and love the fact you all take the time to help identify objects. Thanks to all.

Using the phone should be just as the desk top-just click on the insert image tab (3rd from the right)
It should then ask from computer click-choose file, then files, and that should bring you to your selection Gallery.

Here's some screen captures of what you should see, and how to upload pictures. This was all done on my phone.

First picture the third icon from the right it the insert image button.

Second picture click from computer even though it's a phone, then click choose file.

Third picture click on my files.

Forth picture click on the images folder.

Fifth picture click on the appropriate folder where your picture(s) are, in my case since I did screen shots of the screens I went to the screen shot folder.

Select picture, the click upload picture, when it's done uploading, repeat for additional pictures.

I made a post on how to upload pictures. When you reply to any questions or make a post these instructions should help you.

Also with your phone you can edit a picture you took, by cropping it. Here's your button photo from the original photo, cropped just to show the small button.

Picture one click on the ordinal picture.

Picture two click on the pencil.

Picture three click on the box/border and adjust it to the size you want around the image section you want, then click save.

Picture four shows the cropped section saved as a picture. Button details easily seen now.

Very nice artillery button, congratulations on all the cool finds. Try downloading a magnifying glass app for enhanced picture taking.
