In 1955 I lost a ruby in gold mount childs ring on the strip between the street and sidewalk. It has just been given to me that day by my great aunt and that evening my brother and I were wrestling around and it managed to slip off my finger into the grass. The whole family looked till dark but we were unable to find it. It was my grandmothers house at the time. Eventually she went senile and passed away and my mother sold the house.
I drove by it last year but didn't have a detector with me so didn't stop. The house was being lived in but was in a bit of a state of disrepair. While the property is 50ft wide, the search area would be between the street and sidewalk from the drive, to no more than 20 feet from the east edge of the house. Not a large search area at all.
If anyone's nearby and interested you can PM me and I'll provide the exact address. While I'd love to have the ring back for sentimental reasons, it's not a requirement.
