Lost Ski Areas of Pennsylvania & the Mid atlantic Region

According to USA Today, the number of ski areas in the United States has dropped from 727 in 1985 to 485 in 2008. There are around 30 major ski resorts active in the Mid-Atlantic region, from the northern tips of North Carolina to the northern tips of Pennsylvania. But over the decades, there have been many other ski areas in this region that have come and gone. Through the help of readers, DCSki has uncovered information on 77 "lost" Mid-Atlantic ski areas.

Good link Jeff. I looked at "Devils Hole" first and got excited by the pictures. Ofcourse, it is located on State Game Lands. >:(

There is one located on Barren Hill Rd. outside of Conshohocken I pass occassionally. All of the equipment is still there. It's probabably the one mentioned in the article as "near Conshohocken" :)

From I have read, people loose a lot of change on the slopes. Could be even better if they have been closed for years. Cool post Jeff!
