There is nothing like having confidence in ones detector regardless of the brand. You are off to a nice start with the collection.

WOW, you are doing very well. I am sure 2010 years pile will be something else, congrats.

really like my gti2500 alot, never a problem in the four years i owned it.
use it at the beach alot and out camping dont run too much sensitivity or you
will get false readings. run your coil sweep a little slower to not miss any signals :sunny: :hello2:
great start with your new machine your going to like it alot more in your hunting the more you
get to know the 2500 :icon_thumleft:

What do you run your sensitivity at?

Do you alter any other default settings?

Man...that GTI 2500 is a coin vac with you. Pretty darn good totals in my books for the first battery change.

I bought a GTI 2500 brand new in 2003 and wound up doing back to back deployments overseas so it ended up in storage. I finally dug it out last weekend and hit the parks right around where I live (three newer parks, all >20 years old) and found 48 coins totaling $2.24. I reread the manual and a couple of other coinshooting books this week so I'm now just trying to relearn the machine. I ordered the Garrett pin pointer this week and man, does it help. I definitely plan to start MDing more.

I also do a lot of work up in Nevada and plan to take it up there when I travel. Some of my coworkers up there have a lot of property (6600 acres+) that they will let me hunt on along with a couple of claims. I've already ordered a couple of different coils and some other goodies to help out.

My dad used to own several machines and we used to MD a lot when I was a kid in St Pete, Florida. It's taken me 28 years to finally get back in the hobby. I recently found this place and really like all of the info here. Take care and Happy Hunting!

Great news about your GTI 2500 :icon_thumright: I just purchased one, anxious for the snow to be gone!
So i can get out there and work it! One question for you....... Did you do a lot of mode bouncing? or did you
mainly stay in discriminate mode? Keep posting about your finds with the 2500! Thanks! :headbang:

(ibfinding) I use 6-7.5 on sensitivity at the beachs mostly in discrimination (coin) and in
zero disc. use deepseeking mode at beach then switch to disc. and coin mode
I don't use salt elim. at all. :headbang:

Starter, thanks for your service keeping us all safer. Pop
