Low Country Weekend finds in the Watermelon Patch

Got a call out of the blue last week from my uncle Cletus. He owns the largest watermelon farm in the Low Country. He said if I would come down and bring someone with a strong back with me to give him a hand he would plow the fields and we could hunt it. After asking where his regular help was he explained forman still had 60 days to serve and both of his daughters were pregnant and couldn't lift more than 75 pounds.I thought me and Todd Lipe could do the job of those 14 and 15 year old girls and agreed to go down. On the way down we saw a guy walking down the road with a Minelab on his shoulder. Turns out it was Twin Picks and he agreed to come along. Hard to say no when Todd points a shotgun at you. I guess. Anyway after filling all those jugs with Uncle Cletus's Sweet Water from that Copper tank he allowed us to hunt. We are all still cleaning most of our finds.But it was a Great Weekend with Todd and Darin if you don't count Darlene going into labor changing our flat tire. BTW it's another girl 12 pounds 14 ounces.

That is amazing Im glad you have people to hunt with it makes it a lot more fun I don't know of anyone where I live. Those are really cool finds Im always amazed at how much stuff people drop .

Thanks for the kind words but let me tell you I just meet these guys a couple of weeks ago and invited them to hunt. Both are great guys. But hunting alone does have its advantages also. If you ever run into an all for me/all about me hunter who pisses and moans for weeks when you find something and they don't you may like hunting by yourself.. These guys are not like that. Great guys

Yeah, I've hunted with people like that too, that's why I've mostly been a solitary type of hunter but last weekend was a blast. Seeing everybody else's finds was a lot of fun,and there was a lot of digging in the field going on.

Yeah I think we would have found more if Everyone of us would stopped Screaming Man Look At This and so we did.Great times in the patch

Thanks Jon it must be scraps you had plenty of and just tossed out the window when you drove by the patch. Don't come close to the Amazing finds you dig. Oh yeah Uncle Cletus says he sees you eyeing Darlene as you keep driving by. Said she's kinda sweet on Fly Boys

I think Mrs. Garrett might have something to say about that; but if Darlene has mist of her teeth is kinda purdy I might reconsider. And if she wears a Daisy Dukes tied shirt and short shorts it's all over.
