Hi,:hello:

Rain in the forecast , so I attempted ( successfully) to stay ahead of the elements.

It was great to be out there again; GT is working fine again.

Found lots of clads , a large ( #5 wt.) sinker, 2 "Wheaties", and an interesting item of western motif which may be a belt buckle ..not sure; it is as heavy as lead.

Here's a couple of pics

Thanks for looking

Lorraine

WTG Lorraine. It must make you feel good, not only to get out again, but know your heater is running the way it should....nice hunt.

cool find....

Glad you got out and did some dirt fishing. Maybe tomorrow I can get away. Just couldn't get away today.
Glad your detector is working.

Good hunt..Maybe a rondel from a belt buckle..

Good job Lorraine! Glad to see you're back in the saddle again!

Great to see your back business. Great finds as always. Hope to find so good stuff Thursday. Have to work every day but then. Fingers crossed

Nice haul Lorraine. Glad your GT is up and running again!

Interesting find.

Lorraine, whom did ya get to fix your gt.. am checking mine out tomorrow but I have a feeling its fried.. awesome finds too by the way

What does the back of the round thing look like?? From the front it looks like a rosette from horse tack. They are often made with brass fronts and lead filled backs. Glad you're back in the hunt and finding cool stuff.

Thanks , bootybay

My brother fixes my GT.

Is that Horseshoe thingy a coin or is it a token ?
I am down here in Port Saint Lucie Florida and doing a lot of beach hunting.I have not found and silver or gold yet but I sure have found a lot of sinkers, I must have close to 50 of them already.

Glad to hear you are up and running with the GT!
Nice hunt and thank you for the pictures! HH!

Dave P

Lead will get you around 50c a pound right now

Hi Dave,
It is neither a token nor a coin; it's some kind of attachment either to a belt , or as gunsil suggested it to be a rosette from a horse tack;

It's really old; and on the back are two places where something like a pin or tiny bolt attached it to something.

I'm still researching for info on this item.

Gunsil, I believe that you are entirely correct on that ID.

This is a vintage rosette... they were popular from 1800-1950according to my research

I found these pics :
