Not every year I'll get apples on this tree I put in the dirt I now don't know how many years ago. My wife bought it out of a catalog and when it arrived it was in a long cardboard box and no more than an inch in diameter at the base with about 4 inch of roots on it. I remember digging the hole and thinking we'll see how you do in this high plains desert hard pack dirt there you scrawny looking stick out of a box. Today the base is a good 10 inches in diameter and 14' tall tree. I was looking at all the apples this week now falling on the ground and thought yesterday, why not make a pie. Wife says after trying it first, dang honey this pie is delicious 😋 especially with some ice cream.
