Magnetic rocks?

I found these rocks by Lake Cherokee, NC. They are magnetic! I used one of the smaller rocks with a low power fridge magnet. I was able to flip the magnet upside down with the rock still hanging on. The rocks are a little wet. I tried brushing the rocks but nothing came off.

Looks like Iron ore.

North Carolina has hematite, illminite and magnetite, all magnetic.

I'm going to say it is probably one of those.
