✅ SOLVED Maj. General Winfield Scott

Found in a early 1850s California gold rush site in Sierra county, very remote site. Slightly bigger than a Quarter. Appears to have gold gilt. Writing on the back may as well be Latin or Greek, could be either one.
I'm guessing presidential election token/coin?
Any info appreciated. Found eagle and eagle I on shield buttons on same site.
