I achieved one of my personal goals today! I have been searching for 3+ years now for uniform buttons from the local military academy that closed in 1892. I thought I would NEVER get 40, but I finally did. It took me about a year to hit my 50th! But I did it today! It is a BEAUTIFUL block style coat button! it felt like it was a dream when I saw #50 in the hole! I am VERY happy to have 50 BS buttons!

I also made a cool token find. I was able to I.d. it because I dug one just like it 2 years ago! The token was a 5cent merchandise coin, for Melville Drug Co in Mebane NC, which is the town i live in! I do not know anything about the company....i have looked! I would have never known what the token was had I not already dug one. The moon shaped token is the one I dug today. Less significant finds were a flattened and holed copper penny, a 1945 wheat, and a belt plate or sash buckle. The flat coin weighs 3.0 grams so it could be wheat or Indian. I found it at my old site that gave me the 1829 and 1835 dime!
Keep in mind I did not dig the nicer token today.
