Making a beach shovel

Hey all, I am in the process of making a beach shovel for our trip to MB SC. I am wondering if anyone made one with a flat on the end and how it worked. These guys from Australia have this video up with their design. Just wondering if I should just make the point or if a 2 inch flat would work instead of a point.

Nice job on the Video I made mine a while back. They stock Tuffy shovels at ACE the full size is like 26 dollars and if you join ACE rewards they give you a $10 off coupon. I ended up paying $12 I also used a not so radical rounded point. again nice Video

The one I have came from wally world. It was a little more money. Poly Pro Tools P-6982-G Tuffy 14 inch Poly Scoop Shovel - Green. But this thing is heavy duty. Thats a good price from Ace!
