I think that's who it is Jarman (not 100% sure) but,

the "original" Col Sanders was a thinner guy (late 60s - early 70s),

it was 'later' that he became heavier, and then his advertisement took on the image with the white suit, white hair, etc.

I'm thinking it might be Commander Whitehead, who was the President of Schweppes (tonic water, club soda, etc.). He was also their TV spokesman back in the 50s and 60s - remember him talking about ?Schweppervescence?? I don't know if his picture was on their bottle caps, but it sort of makes sense. I'm not sure I know how to, but I'll try to attach a picture of him I got off the web.
