Cool,... I'm heading out there today.
thanks for your time and effort.
It's pretty tough hunting out there
but I hope to report back with great news.

Hi Wetgreenie,
As a follow up to our conversation, the red circled area is where dowsing has revealed the person was when they lost the watch.

Thanks Jon, I spent some time checking that spot out. The reason I went there first is that it is easier to get to and, it happens to be the area that the owner of the land saw the guy walk back from just before telling him how he had lost his watch.

While searching the area with my Metal detector I did get a very strong hit right where you have it marked on the picture. I did some digging and found some chunks of old barbed wire but kept going. I now have a pretty deep hole filled with water and muck. I am still getting a strong hit but had to give up for now. It is very tough hunting out there, very mushy and wet due to recent rain. It was so sloppy I almost lost my boots. I marked the hole and plan to return. I hope the water will dry up some more for next time.

I'll keep you all posted when I get out there again.

Update,

The Two red X's are spots suggested that I check.
The areas in white are areas I have done my best to cover so far.
So far I have about 8 hrs into searching with my MD.

I did get right where the X's are. They that turned out to be shotgun shells
which is a good sign, being the guy who lost the watch was duck hunting at the time.
It is entirely possible that I walked right over the target w/o my detector picking it up.
there is much tall grass and knee deep pockets of mud and water.

Duck hunting starts (tomorrow) Saturday morning Sept. 29th
I will not be allowed to hunt during the season.
I'm not sure when I'll be able to get out there again.

The Rolex below could be like the one I'm looking for.
18K Gold with inset Diamonds. I'm told he insured it for $25K.

Wetgreenie ;D glad to hear you have not given up.... but if the ground is bog, it may have sunk to a pretty good depth... which will not be to your benefit.... maybe you will need to get hold of a radar setup or something to get the extra depth.
Keep trying, and keep us posted with lots of pictures ::)

God bless
Peter

Who Knows Maybe I'll just wait for it to freeze over solid.
Then get my hands on a two box detector and run around
marking any good hits with a flag and wait for it to thaw again.

Hmmmm....... I wonder if that might work?

Temperatures like this make you realize men have nipples too.
