Marble ID

Hello, I found this marble in a hole with a 1964 penny. I was wondering who made it and when and why there is so many cracks. Thanks

People fried marbles to make them have lots of cracks, put them in a bowl of water with a flower bulb for indoor plants. Back in the fifties and sixties you could get 100
marbles in a plastic bag for that purpose. Not every one fried them. Gnewt

i cant tell for sure by the pic....but the white patch leans me towards vitro....
