650 Marbles! update

Arrived at the estate sale at 7am, there were 10 people in front of me, the first person was there at 5:30am.
I guess nobody else wanted the marbles because I walked in and asked for them and they were in 13 separate sealed bags of 50 marbles each for $10 a bag for a total of $130.Since it was the first day of a two day sale they didnt want to deal too much so i would up paying $110 for 650 marbles(I havent counted them all) or so which
brings the price to about .17 cents a piece.

The first thing I noticed is they are dirty and in need of a good cleaning with soap and water.I tried to group them by color and shape/pattern as best i could for the pictures.I know only a little about marbles but there
are a bunch of "banana" shapes in clear glass ones. There were no picture marble prints like tom mix or kayo by peltier...It will take me a long while to clean sort identify and get these ready for sale, so any comments are welcome.Marbles are addictive, there are so many color variations that I think I lost my marbles in buying these.....

p.s. I took pictures very fast and they dont always reflect the true beauty of some of these...

those are good old marbles....get em as cheap as you can....you can point out defects and damage.....im sure theres a gem in that box....if your new- look for pretty.....but damage is the thing.....i wouldnt go over 100$ and if they offer that deal from there.....i usually pay 10-12$ a quart for lot marbles.....

Thanks Duffy, your info was exactly what I was looking for. Prices at estate sales around here are pretty
high so now I know what my maximum would be for that lot....

in your area there would be lots of peltier marbles as they were made in ill....you could do a google search on those and get an idea of what to look for....good luck if you get em...stuff like that is what i hunt......you could also google marble king marbles and vitro agate....

Did you get them and if so what did you have to pay... Or did they want to much???

a better one is american machine made marbles by six, johnson and mensler.....ill look for it and post a link....

I was able to purchase this lot of marbles, please see updated photos

looks like you did ok with them.....i like em and would like to search thru them.....
