Marilyn Manson, 48, is crushed by two giant pistol stage props and is stretchered off midway through singing Sweet Dreams at New York concert[/h]

• Manson, 48, was performing at the Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom
• At around 10.10pm, a prop display of two large pistols 'toppled' on top of him
• Witnesses said he had been trying to climb it when they suddenly collapsed
• A huddle of people rushed on stage and then stretchered him off minutes later after breaking him free from beneath the props
• Confused concert goers were plunged into darkness then told to leave the venue
• A representative for the star said he was in hospital being treated for an injury
• The seriousness of the rocker's condition was not immediately known
