marked copper piece. Any ideas?

It looks like it might be a cast piece- ref. 2nd pic. looks like mold cask line. mho yelnif...

Hi John -found it in a field here in PA where I've been finding colonial items (a large "toasted" British Penny -Pre-Rev, as far as i can tell) and items all through this century. This copper piece seems hand made and curiously marked.

I think the line is shadow. Definitely not cast..Looking at it now...There is variation in thickness. gun part?

That seems possible, those small triangles look like hammer marks?
