Marks of the SF FEDERAL RESERVE District

I figured we needed an area for identifying marks on coins circulating in the SF FED district. I'll start off with a few coins found today. If any of these are your marks please let us know.

To start us off I do know that SF BayArea is marking his x99x coins with black or blue circles around the nines.
Recently I have seen some of those coins with the date on the back covered with a red stripe.

I rarely mark but when I do it is on impaired proofs with the month and date. The thick rim makes it easy to pick out if it comes back.

It's interesting that you got the "SM" coins.. I'm guessing those are from Brinks/Loomis style boxes. I've never gotten any with the "SM" until last week when I went down to San Diego when I ordered two from down there. I have yet to see the "SM" coins with CWI boxes. I was wondering at the time whether it was just some monster searcher from down SoCal. Slim boxes, I got one 40%er out of the two boxes.

I didn't add a red stripe to the back of any coins. Just the month/year on the back which is a recent addition. I have not seen any of the Cali variety yet.

I didn't think it was you since the month is removed by the red stripe. I found one of your 04/11 in the boxes today so they are turning them pretty fast. The next time I find a date with a stripe I'll scan it and put it up.

what about the people that keep impaired proofs, of need that one date for their albums? i keep all proofs impaired or not...because of the low mintage.....

I feel it would be more interesting to keep the thread about marked coins and not about whether to mark, which coins to mark, etc. I would not worry about an ink mark that can be removed with alcohol. If you need any impaired proofs or NIFC let me know via PM and we can work a trade.

Founds these in a CWI box today with a bunch of "casino halves"

The date appears to be 7/10 with a green "w" above and on the other side is a green 22.

The yellow dots on the "00" appear to be a copy cat of SFBayArea's mark on the "99"

Got a half with "Stu" on it this week. Another person who marks their coins is some guy to scratches the reverse shield of all new 2001-D halves or new halves. What a b@stard. Marking is one thing but to permenantly damage them by scratching them is bad.

Looks like Sp 10', short for "Spring 2010"..

I get a few of these" blue dot" out here in utah - not more than 1-2 per 1000 box. Same color and mark.

Yes, it's strange. I have gotten the NIFC's with the "RC" counterpunched on it before. I remember getting them twice on 2004 and 2005's. It seems to be a NIFC only thing.
