Well they sent a penny to mars on that mission. Use the penny to calibrate/ focus camera is how I understand it..

Did you know that a company has already formed to build ore carriers at the space station and then transport whatever is discovered back to earth before the century is out? Some heavy hitters are involved with this. It just takes money.
