I recently came into possession of some of my Dad's personal effects. One of the items is this same freemason badge as above. It's dated 1907 which makes no sense since my Dad, a freemason, wasn't even born yet. My Grandfather (also a freemason) was only nine years old in 1907 so I seriously doubt it was his either. I'm unaware of my great grandfather ever having been a freemason.
Can anybody explain how these badges would have been obtained or given out originally? In other words did one have to attend the event or in some way earn it?
