Went into a bank yesterday and got $60 in CWR dimes and $20 in nickels. Of the dimes $50 were the rolls in the picture below. Got home and opened them and couldn't believe it - all were solid silver. Had to go back to the bank before it closed, brought one of the rolls with me, and went to the same teller and I said you sold me these dimes earlier and they were all old, and asked if he had any more rolls like the one I got before (I showed him the roll I brought), and I got an additional $20 that were solid silver.
So $70 in solid silver (all FDR) dimes. My guess is that someone passed away and their heirs cleaned out the house and turned whatever coins they had into the bank. I am sending my wife back there on Tuesday (stupid me should have asked yesterday) to get $100 in quarters. But given that far more people ask for quarters over time, there is a good chance that they were given out already.
Thanks for looking and HH
