The corrosion makes the date a bit difficult to read but it is 1834.

Patriotic Token 051524.jpg Patriotic Token Reverse 051524.jpg

The token's a bit beat up but has the American flag on front. Back states "The Union Must Shall Be Preserved". Also has Jackson at the bottom.

Today's finds...

1834 Matron Head Large Cent
1863 Patriotic Token "The Union Must Shall Be Preserved"

THat could be a "Key Date" coin if it turns out to have large stars instead of small stars and worth at least 10 X as much!!

Definitely appears to be the large 8. Most stars are obscured by corrosion so hard to tell. The star near the forehead is the most corrosion free. It appears "far" from the forehead so they would appear to be small, but a comparison to another coin would probably be a better gauge.
