Well since joining the metal detecting community I have searched several location thoroughly without any sign of old coins. Tons of clad and a few nice finds but my interest is older silver coins. After doing alot of research about old fairgrounds in a 50 km radius I may have found one that is untapped. The fairgrounds around here are all owned by the agricultural society of each municipality and are all fenced off and locked. But this particular one is shared with the city and access is easy and legal. Ten minutes in I uncovered two 1942 king George pennies and a 1934 king george canadian silver quarter. Finally I found a location I could get excited about. Unfortunately the skies opened up and my day was done. It was Sunday and I had other commitments for the evening. Can't wait to get back. I'll keep you all posted. Happy hunting.
