ZDD and me got out to an old and a new site.

It's was really too hot by 10 AM, and it's too hot to be posting now.

Anyway i got a decent little silver, and a copper, Dave got a couple of coppers, and a lead seal.

I got a couple of pieces of clay pipe stem at the new site, but conditions there were rough for sure, perhaps when conditions improve some oldies might surface from there.

And here's a pic of our recent cape breton trip got one of those complete metal shotgun shell casing, as well a GEO III copper.

Better than the finds was the cool sea breeze.

Good stuff. Those shells are cool I found one when I first started detecting. It was my favorite find for a while. Is there a date on the copper or is it toast?

Can't see the date clearly, probably 1775.

Nothing better than a good sea breeze and some great finds. I need to see some pictures of the scenery so i know what I'm getting into if the wife and i ever make a trip up that way.

I never like to post anything with me in it, but here is one of our sea side camp site, it was free, and VERY nice.

Very nice looking place Rick. Not too different than my old New England stomping grounds.

The photo of you guys sitting around the campfire gives me a peaceful feeling. I can imagine kicking back after a long day of hunting but even better waking up right where you want to hunt that morning. Nice finds!

If that's a die crack I see, does it also have one on the other side? If so, I think we found the same counterfeit.

I never really noticed it, as it is more apparent in the pic, you mean the line going round the back side of his head ?
The other side is a bit flat...no die cracks are jumping out at me.

I thnk it would be just great to be outside in the summertime enjoying life and detecting, and the finds would be the icing on the cake!

I'm working hard to have time in the fall to have some of that. Great to see you posting!

Great to see you got out Rick. It's damn hard right now. Everything is so overgrown this summer. Heats been bad and the bugs, ticks and poison ivy have been terrible. I had a couple of small melt downs yesterday. Whacked myself in the head with my shovel trying to kill a damn horsefly. Don't tell anybody :-)

Yeah I have a neat one which has a heavy die crack on the reverse, and I think a similar looking one on the obverse as yours.... if that is a die crack.

Silver is always a good thing! Congrats on finds and a cool breeze! Gonna be hot for a few followed by a storm, we can use the rain! Who knows what it will bring to the surface!
