Mayan Gold?

Anyone know what this item might be or possibly it's value? This item has been handed down through three generations (that we know of) and it was rumored to have belonged to a pilot from Colombia South America. He's about 1" tall.

Hard to tell from the pic, but the gold appears to be of an exceptionaly high purity which is a good sign as far as authenticity goes. That, and also the fact that you know it's recent history. A really outstanding artifact, a museum piece.

I found this entry in the Necronomicon by Abdul Alhazred:

i have one of those its a reproduction of an archeological figure whose original is kept in the gold museum of the bank of the republic,in bogota d.e. these figures reflect an aboriginal culture what lived in the american continent in which have been called pre-columbian times.these pendants are made by columbian goldsmiths and sold to tourists like me on the streets,then if you didnt hide them well enough they were confiscated at the airports cause it was considered an artifact of the country. these figures were found all over columbia basically like grafitti a worshipped thing.

Wow! A one inch tall pilot from columbia! Boy that plane must have been cramped!

Sorry! Couldnt resist! It does look columbian to me though. A little TOO rough hewn to be authentic I think but Im not a specialist on columbian art.

Not an expert but, this looks like a die-cast repro to me. Probably sold to tourists as a memento. Still a nice item and does appear to be high karat gold from the photos.
