McCoy water picther, perfect until

Picked up a McCoy water picther at the TS. Carry it around the store while shopping. I check out the lid, inside, out side all in great condition. I pay for the item and the minute I step out the door I find a chip in the handle. WHAAAATTT. Where was that chip when I was in the store.
