MDed Coin Submissions

You mean graded them? There are a lot of folks that chime in with grades here, and often their opinions about grades are unjustifiably high or otherwise inaccurate. You can do it yourself with the book "Photograde." It has photos of every U.S. regular mint issued coin in all grades. Then just go grab a coin prices magazine. (The info in such a magazine is more accurate than a red book, blue book, or black book's price listings, simply because it is published monthly.)

i heard Greysheet is better because those are the prices you can expect a dealer to offer. how about PCGS or NGC?

Greysheet is probably better, now that you mention it--but only if you intend to sell. I would compare Greysheet with a monthly periodical just so you're in the know. I would say PCGS or ANACS or NGC. Those are the big three. But if something is in "dug" condition, some services won't take them. (This would be any old copper or nickel coin.) But silver and gold are accepted because their condition doesn't deteriorate in most circumstances underground.
