It's got some letters or numbers stamped on it but can't make them out. It was found at old homesite . Thought it could be stove lid but it seems rather small. Search said rosette or mercantile weight but I don't know if that's right. The depressions look like you could put your fingers in it for turning?

I would guess a bung plug for some type of farm machinery. The inserted portion is for turning it or grabbing it.
