I was given this coin by a family friend. I am not sure what year or what country it is from. Please help!

Much more recent than Medieval.

I think it's similar to a 1625 3 Poltorak (or 3 Polker, minted under the rule of Sigismund III Vaza in Poland). But yours has a different cross and appeard to have "18" for 1618, so it may be another denomination. Would need a better image (or better screen at my end). If the number in the orb is "24" it is 1/24th of a Thaler.

Close. But I haven't found one yet that doesn't have the "O" above the left arm of the cross. Yours has an "L" and is missing that second "O" (POL vs. POLO).

So your says REG POL MONE NO instead of REG POLO MONE NO (abbreviations of "Kingdom of Poland New Money" in Latin- Could be a variant?) I'm not real "up" on foreign coins.

But it is definitely a Sigismund 3 Pölcher coin. And a nice one!

Here you can see some of the MANY variations.

Sigismund III 1587-1632
