Taking advantage of cooler weather Artifact Jack and me did a little screening at Tilly's Hill . A major amount of glass and nails bits of iron and tin cans and once in awhile an arrowhead would show . When I hit hard pan I found the mortar my day maker . Jacks finds on top of white cooler . Private property with permission . I added a close up of the crystal point and some wild flowers we planted on a section we rehabbed .

150 lb ? I rolled it down the hill and backed my truck up to the bank and slid it in . I found it at the end of the day and could barely lift it out of the hole . And still had to fill in the hole anything for points lol .

That's a big one! Find any grinders that match it?

Wait... you actually took the mortar? A 150lb artifact is quite something! There are some mortar holes South East of where I live but no one does anything with them because they're embedded in such huge rocks.
btw, nice touch with the flowers. :icon_thumright:

Nice finds, quite the mortar you found, congrats!

150lbs?? I thought the ones my husband has were big...geez...
Nice find.

That is a good one for sure. The one I found is larger than a basketball and the hole goes all the way thru it. The hole looks like a funnel, 6" across at the top and 3" at the bottom. I just don't know how to do this photo posting thing.

Now those are some nice dug items. Great looking mortar! Look good at home.
