Melting Lead - Question

I want to melt some lead sinkers I found into something useful But I don't know what type of metal form to use so the lead won't stick to it? Any one have any help for me?

In the CW, they used Brass bullet molds for molten lead. So brass should work for you as well.

You can pour into muffin tins and the like. I poured 50 lbs at a time into valve covers for race car weight. You can also make ingot molds out of channel iron with ends welded on . You should be able to use about any piece of clean iron. Just remember , no moisture in the mold as it will steam and could blow lead out of the mold onto you. Good Luck , Tyler

Ive made hundreds of lead fishing weights using aluminum molds.
I bought them through Cabelas.
Google lead molds and see what comes up.

Lead won't stick to aluminum, but it can stick some to iron or brass (think solder). To help prevent sticking to these metals, you can coat them with dry graphite or soot from a match. Be careful with thin aluminum, as it gets soft and weak at the melting temp. of lead and may not support a lot of weight. In other words, don't melt your lead in an aluminum pot, use iron or steel for this.

If it's a one pour deal you can carve whatever you want into thick hardwood .Aluminum beer cans also make fine ingot molds.Bud 'heavy' if you will.
