Well I didn't get skunked tonight. I went through a box of nickels and dimes and managed a 41 mercury dime and a 45 S war nickel. I am going to try another bank where I've had more success. Thanks for viewing!

If you look at production numbers from the mint, you’ll see that the government cranks up coin production at the beginning and during wars. When WW2 hit, the production of merc dimes went crazy. That’s why most of the mercs found on Tnet date to WW2. These are the numbers from Philly mint only:

Total…962,210,000
