Mercury Dimes

I often find Mercs on 1950's properties, in fact the majority of my mercs were found on three house sites that all were built in 1953.

very common to find them on 1950's properties.

Without a doubt there is still some in circulation. Just haven't been dropped yet.

I found one in my front yard. House was built in 56. Merc was a 42. Also got a 49 rosie and a 56 quarter. Believe me the Merc was a welcome surprise. Good luck out there

Mercury dimes were used heavily through the 1960’s, until the mint stopped producing dimes in 90% silver. Folks started hoarding them.

Agree, I was born in 1951 and the Mercs were in our change up to late '64 when all silver coins just disappeared!

My first mercury dime I found outside the playground, in back of the elementary school I attended from 1968-73. School was built in 1960.
