Found my first Mercury dime yesterday afternoon. A really nice 1942. After that it was like my luck ran sour. A couple of hours of bad targets. When I was least expecting it up popped a 1916!! That made the whole day worthwhile.

Nice job! The 1916 wouldn't happen to have a "D" on the reverse, would it?

Congrats on those Mercs..No better sight than seeing those silver beauties coming out of the dirt. Hope you find many more.

Great finds !!!! Congratulations on your first silvers. It's too much fun finding the old stuff!!!! :icon_thumright:

Silver is soooo pretty right out of the ground!!!!

Nope, the 1916 isn't a d mint mark. and the 1942 isn't a 2/1. I checked. Went as far as getting out a microscope.

Great find either way!

WTG

How'd you like that shot of adrenaline you got when that "1916" looked back at ya?? When I found one, I almost wee-wee'd :o until I turned the coin over and saw no mint mark. :tongue3:

Good job on the mercs. I've dug 3 1916s and none being a D. Those coins never get old digging up! 8)

Congrats on your first and second merc. This is the type of coin that gets the addiction going. You had a good day.
