I'm 66 years old, I've had it 46 years and it needs a new home. It is made of US Steel, not Chinese. I've used it in chest deep water and used it using Brownie 3rd Lung in 10 feet of water, takes a lot of lead on the diver and strength but it can be done. Code Enforcement came last week and classified it as junk. I live near Clermont, FL, anybody want to give it a new home? It needs minor repair, a weld broke and it needs a wheel replaced and I have the wheel. Even used it to rake up Sand Fleas at the beach for surf fishing or use at Shark Beach at Venice, FL for fossils and big sharks teeth. Email me at bigguy0604@gmail.com.
I wrote about it in 2004 and updated it in 2009. It's old but its built to last a 100+ years. Do a search on here: Merkitch Sifter. Underwater Metal detector were very expensive in 1970 so I had this built a little wider than called for. I'm handicapped now and can't pull it not longer. I have my memories of using it.:icon_thumleft:
