Local farmer told me of a spot out in field that has glass and brick fragments in it and suggested I check it out. Went out yesterday and found the old house site. Started spotting the brick pieces and glass so out came the detector. Within minutes got a strong hit and found a coin exposed in dirt, couldn't read coin but was bigger than nickel and smaller than quarter. Stuck in pocket and drove on. Next up was a small spoon fragment, then a large spoon followed by what looked like part of a pull tab but thicker. In the pocket it went. Started raining so I quit and came home. Well after cleaning coin found what is my first ever 2 cent piece from 1865 and that pull tab once flattened out became a trade token from SG Adams in St Louis. Can't make out other side of token though due to plow gash. Great first finds on the site and can't wait to hit it again.
