Metal detected rock

Can someone please advise what I have here?
Its not magnetic but has a very strong signal on the detector
I had it against the bench grinder and it is a metal
Its hard. Is it perhaps aluminium?

So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

I do find melted blobs of aluminum quite often

Ive found rocks that set off my detector . Do you need help on how to upload a picture many people have had that issue the first time myself included. Tommy

If you can ID the specific gravity of the object it may yield some clue on the composition. Weight per unit of volume compared to alloy charts found on line.
