Metal Detecting Trail Crossings/Convergences

Looking to expand my detecting opportunities by searching areas where roads and trails either fanned out or crossed. I've heard that travelers would often stop and camp there, or rest their oxen/horses, leading me to believe these spots may have some potential for finding artifacts. I'm referring to road junctions without any nearby structures recorded on old maps.

Has anyone here focused on detecting this type of area? What has your experience been?

I've followed some old wagon roads in woods that are not visible from anything unless you have done your research and found some items dropped or discarded . I say definitely go for it
