Has anyone else done this? I affixed my Whites pinpointer to the side of my MXT control box with velcro. That way is it out of the way but within easy reach. Question is...is there any conceivable harm to the electronics to have these two items in such close proximity.

It looks pretty bad ass as well ;D

It won't effect the detector. Good idea, out of the way and the only drawback I can think of is weight on the old arm.

That's a really good idea, Romeo. :)

Will the dirt get into the velcro though...and make the velcro so it doesn't stick anymore? I know sometimes my pinpointer gets pretty muddy.

Lisa...I've had it on there for a week and so far no problems. I bought the industrial strength self adhesive velcro and it seems pretty duarble. It's a very fine hook so the dirt brushes right off.

As for the weight...it is really negligible. I haven't noticed the difference.

been doin that since i got my technetics pp.. velcro'ed it to the top of my landstar...fits perfectly and adds almost no wieght cause the pp is so light.

romeo-1,
Great idea. I attached my pinpointer to my M6 the other night. So far so good . I use an industrial type hook and loop from 3M. No material to get matted.

One reason I have not got a Sunray probe for my Explorer II is the weight issue. I like to use it without my strap. I think attaching the probe to a web belt would be better. You would still have to carry it but the weight would not be on the arm. Also because of this I would like to get a Detector Pro Pocket Uniprobe. It looks like a top of the line mini detector, great distance. My 2 Cents.
