metal detector find The Netherlands (region Eindhoven)

These two massive heavy metal balls where found in the region of Eindhoven The Netherlands. They are no gate weights or ball post finials. They haven't rusted since they came out of the ground and have a smooth steel like surface underneathe the encrustations. Both have one flat side, see measurements and weight photo's. If anyone know what they are please let me know.

indeed they must be mill balls see photo example with the same flat side. but no mines in Eindhoven is believe.

No, ball mills are not used for processing wheat into flour but they have a number of other heavy duty applications besides ore processing (which isn't necessarily performed at the location where the ore is mined). Notably, they're used to break up materials to use as aggregate for road-building or construction purposes, and pulverise it for cement production.

Also employed to produce fine powders for clays used in ceramic production.
