metal detectors have come a long ways, what and when was your 1st one?

In the mid 1960's, my Dad bought a used Goldak from a guy he worked with. Hardly remember ever using it, and don't remember ever finding anything.

2014 and a Fisher Research Labs F2. I haven't used it but for only a few hours, but I hope to change that in the near future.

Radio Shack: was a fun detector, very basic, but found shallow stuff.

I remember when Radio Shack was the place to go for technical help, creative electronic kits and circuit components...was a very special place for the electronic/engineering type. RIP
