Number 10 part is 3 1/2 inches across by 2 1/4 inches high

Looks like cast iron. Would break if hammered on very hard. I'm thinking some kinda ground marker. Grave corner, survey, position marker etc.

Hi,

Imho this is a part of the foot valve of old manual water pump. The only thing that makes me a little think is that the upper plate is not round.

I'll second the grave marker spike theory.
Today they are made from cast aluminum.
