metallic rock???

Found this rock on the atv trails. Actually dug it up since the Ace 250 found it. I sowre it registered as a nickel, but now that it is out of the ground it keeps beeping as a penny when I swing it under the coil.
ANy ideas on what it could be After I dug it up and saw it at first I thought I had a gold nugget (since it registered in that range) but now I am not sure what the heck I got.

Will post also in the nugget section just in case.

Looks like a piece of melted metal from a camp fire or where people burn trash. Find these quite a bit. They are all over the beaches where they can build fires.
