metate/ 'nutting' combo
the whole rock is about 16"...NOT my find, but an older gentleman, and he was wanting to know about the small pit and asked if I would post the picture...I told his friend what little I know about the dimple, I still think it being part of shaping a game ball makes the most sense rather than cracking nuts in it...but I don't know if game balls are found around here. The whole rock is about to split in half (sandstone) right where you see the bottom.
thanks for looking, any new in sight to the little dimple would be appreciated.
