Wanted to go up and hunt around Tahoe yesterday, but I-80 was backed up for hours. This morning I watched the traffic on my phone until it started backing up again at 8am, so I quickly got out on the road.
It was only 39 degrees f when I stepped into the river, which was around 57 degrees. Enough of a difference for some cool looking steam on the water!
Within 5 minutes, and only my second target I nabbed a chunky Blue Nile Platinum band!
About 50 pull tabs later, I kicked the rocks away from another pull tab signal in knee deep water and exposed another ring. It looked so good laying on the bottom and I quickly reached in and plucked it from the gravel.
Dang, another tungsten fake out!

So, it turns out that I could have quit after 5 minutes and would have had a good hunt, and the rest of the day to do whatever!
But we know that is not how this game is played, right?
