DON'T Trust Ice on Ponds !

Even up her in PA it is not
safe to walk on Ice without being able to tell
how hard it is.

Yep Jeff, the story you posted was in my county and not far from my house. The small lake/pond across the street from my house has been ice covered for about a week now, but it will never get thick enough to support a person. It is so tempting to want to mess around on ice that I'm surprised we don't lose more kids this way each winter. Gpurs...
Low of 14.5 here at the house this morning..
 

I'm with Jeff. Stay off the ice. You break through and fall in, drowning will not be at the top of the list. But hypothermia will sure kill you quick.
