Hello experts!

I always keep my head down for the search of arrowheads or river relics while walking the shorelines of the Columbia River. I found this curious item in the Mid Columbia River area. It was on the Washington side, across the River and east of The Dallas and in the area with basaltic cliff faces. This could just be a simple "shard" that split from the cliffs, or it could be a relic from native Americans. I looked hard for signs of "chipping" and although not definitive you could make the argument that rock appears to have been molded in a shape that would make it useful as a tool.

Let me know. I would hate throwing away an artifact! At worse it will find a place in my garden.

Just a chunk of rock keep looking .

It does not look like it has been worked. Sometimes Basalt is hard to see the working, so you have to look at it more closely. But by magnifying the photo you can see that it has not been worked. Keep Looking.

Natural rock but keep looking. You are in a great area.

that one is a Basalt spall, could it have been a tool?...well, basalt spall tools are very common along the Columbia drainage area, so yes it could be but yours seems natural.
