Military campaign/reunion badge?

Hi everyone.

I found this today near an old cellar hole (Chicago suburbs) and am hopeful that someone
can help I.D. this piece. I also found an 1870 Shield nickel in the same area.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I forgot. . . it's about 1.75" tall :P

I'm guessing meeting (hand shake) between American and German. Note the bottom stripe "coloration" on the German flag matches the coloration of the top stripe on the US flag (red). I suppose the eagle could imply military... The globe in the center gives it a U.N. flavor...

But as usual, I'm just speculating.

Nice find! I spent a lot of time trying to find out about this one with no luck. My thought was some kind of campaign medal.
