military pin?

found this pin this morning, at a park/dump site in Jackson. It was about 5 inches down. was wondering if anyone can ID it and what time period, thanks

i do know its Army found some at a WW2 air base

I went in the service in Feb 64 and I had a collar pin that looked like yours.

U.S. Army collar disk.

Looks like a Type III disk with pin-clutch attachment, c. 1937-44.

However, as Duggap notes, very similar disks were in use far later.

I had the same one until 94.

it is an enlisted collar disk, army. in 69 we still used them.
